Chapeau to the VTTA for putting this event on run by a good friend of the club Robbie Harcourt who did a great job on the day for making this event happen. For the second year running the event was 15 Miles on the J2/9 circuit, starting at the 50 Mile starting point finishing at the end of the drag on the A50, it seems very popular with a number of riders to do something a little different.
Good weather with a field of 60 riders in total and 5 starters from Warrington who entered for our Club Handicap competition.
Two WRC none starters gave us a starting line-up as below with the below handicap.

Great ride and win by Dave Roberts on the Road Bike who beat who smashed his Handicap time by a 1 Minute 11 Seconds, his tactic being ride it like a 10 and then hang on seemed to work well on what was a reasonably fast day conditions wise. Congrats to Dave on winning not only our event but Fastest Road Rider on the day too for the whole event.
An additional chapeau to Gaz Hinde, his first TT and race for 17 years with zero form or training of late going round with a 42:31 just over 21mph for 15 miles is a great ride. Hopefully this is the start of many more to come from Gaz who has recently added more races to his calendar!
Regular TT races and last years Champion David Wright, Eddie Monteith and Dan Chesters all within 30 seconds of their handicap gives the data i have to hand better accuracy for the handicaps and predicted times now and years to come. Maybe i’ll have to start requesting Power and CdA stats from people soon to get these times a little closer!
Finally really good to see the Members of the VTTA giving one our regular Time Keepers and Marshalls for many years a Life Time Membership to the VTTA to Ian Ross for all his efforts in cycling over the years, a well deserved award. We were very happy to have Ian and partner as one of our guests of honour at our Club Dinner in January.
Look forward to seeing you all again next year !
