July 16th also saw the annual Ron Spencer Memorial Open 25 Mile Time Trial Event run by Warrington Road Club, that brought 134 riders all over the North West.

The Ron Spencer Trophy which is for Warrington Road Club Members was retained again by Steve Hilton who won comfortably with a time of 56 minutes and 2 seconds to second placed veteran David Wright who produced his seasons best with a 59.11. Paul McGowan in 3rd wasn’t expected to produce his fastest effort with the 24 hour Time Trial following the week after, he went round in a 59.51 beating David Fox who was fourth, who also produced his season best with 1hr and 59 seconds. Alan Otttiwell returned to the Time Trial circuit after 4 years and completed the course with a 01:57:33 with David Friend completing the 7 man team with a 01:11:49.
The Overall winner on the day was David Crawely from Velotik Racing Team with an impressive 52 minutes and 17 seconds beating 2nd placed Jack Schofield by a just over a minute. Fastest lady on the day was Claire Harrison from Vision Racing who won with 1 hour, 2 minutes and 57 seconds which was also a PB.
